So while I’m getting the kids ready for bed, telling them to take their sleeping clothes out, get ready for a bath, don’t forget your underwear (I Know!), and finally putting them to bed… In this process my son walks past me and gives my husband a kiss telling him good night and I said: “Aaron…what about mommy?!” while walking away he says: “good night mommy!”
Now… I can’t say that my feelings wasn’t a little bruised…it was! but after thinking about it, My kids haven’t seen their daddy in months. He just came back from a 6 month deployment from Afghanistan and the kids are happy to have him back. My sweet daughter came over and gave us both a kiss good night, but (a joke that I like to tell…)

So its moments like this where I don’t mind being ignored, I don’t mind the sleepiest nights when they have colds or sick, the hard moments where they really miss daddy and they just need to hear his voice, moments where I am the only one that understand how they feel…I don’t mind the little sacrifices I make for this moment of when he is COMING HOME… it makes a HUGE difference in the end! In seeing the wild hair and huge smiles, makes it ALL worth it!
