This is me in church feeling so uncomfortable. I remember feeling so HUGE, tired, back hurting, I wanted to go home. I know in this picture there was a few things going on that my church was doing and my husband decided to stay, I wanted to be supportive.
Later that evening, we went home and came back to church because there was a back to school drive, where the church organize back packs with school supplies for the kids in the community, plus there was a pot luck. I felt up to it, I got rest and I ate so I was happy.
Late, Late that night we went home from church around 830-900 pm, we went straight to bed and I woke up around midnight feeling lite contractions, I thought it was going to be over, so I decided to try and get sleep but it would not happen, so I woke my husband and told him and then he ask me: “So, what do you want to do?” Around this time it was going on 1am so I decided to call the labor and delivery nurse to see what she would say. I told her everything that was going on and she let me know to come in to see where I was.
At this point, I had NOTHING packed, I needed to get my older children bags packed and my over night bag and the baby bag. So I basically called a few friends to get my kids and I threw EVERYTHING into ALL the bags, at this point the contractions seem like it was coming between 2 to 5 mins.
So I FINALLY got checked in and from the time I stepped into the hospital I told them I wanted an epidural. It was no secret, it seem like they were giving me the run around: “Oh, we need to take your blood.” “We have to see if there’s one available.”
Anyway… Feeling frustrated and tired, they FINALLY made it in and I got one. Once I got it, I still was feeling the contractions. I kept telling them, I can still feel the pain after crying and telling them over and over about my pain they were finally able to give me the maxium dosage. I felt better, but can still feel it in my back, they let me know that the epidural doesn’t go to the back, so after like 30 mins of being on the epidural the pain started to increase. On top of that, they gave me pitocin without breaking my water because they didn’t want me to get an infection, so once they added the pitocin, I started feeling EVERYTHING!
I forgot to mentioned that when I came into the hospital I was 4 cm, after being on the epidural for a while, I still wasn’t making any changes so they gave me pitocin. It went from 0 to 60 within mintues, I was crying and begging for them to increase my epidural, at this point I made it to 10 cm and they cut if off. I was crying so much because it hurt so bad, It felt like I had no control over the pain at all, it was one contraction after the other with no brake to relax and it was awful.
The midwife let me know that I needed to push the pain out so it won’t hurt anymore, I was on board and started pushing, I pushed a few times and she came out perfect!
Olivia was born at 7 lbs, 6.5 oz and 20 inches long! The nurse put her on my chest and she began to pee on me, it was such a great experience minus the labor part! Here she is after being cleaned!
I am so VERY thankful and grateful that my husband was able to make the birth of our baby girl! He was such a big helper and husband that I was just so overwhelm with love for him. He was up with me, coaching me to push and rubbing my back making sure I was ok through the whole process, he was just as tired as I was.
We have been so happy and so blessed to have olivia here with us. She had brought nothing but happiness and really has brought my whole family together. It has been fun and amazing to see her little personality coming through, her getting to know us as we are getting to know her!
These are pictures of olivia at a few days old. I can do nothing but smile every time I look at her.
Olivia’s brother and sister love holding her and helping out, they’re just as happy as we are about having a newest addition to the family!
Today she is almost a month old and growing SOOO much, already gained weight and looking forward to learning so much about her! I can’t help but kiss her many times, there’s so much cuteness, I can’t take it!
Thank you everyone for following me through praying through my pregnancy journey. Your prayers were not in vain, Olivia is here VERY healthy, I left the hospital the very next day with no health issues, I am so thankful!
Here is my story on my channel, I go a little bit in detail!
