“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”
I chose this verse because to God it doesn’t matter how you perform your roles IN a marriage but accepting the role you have been given as husband and wife.
When we got married, the first couple of years in our marriage, I was so focused on doing what I was “suppose” to do as a wife. What does that look like? In my eyes I felt I was supposed to cook, clean, take care of the kids, get in my word, etc. I felt over whelmed and I felt I didn’t measure up to other wives that looked like they had it together ALL the time!
Until one day I took a step back and re-focused on God and what HE wanted me to do, as Trista being married to my husband E. Yours and everyone’s roles maybe different in marriage. No matter the roles and what it looks like, It’s all about giving God the glory in your marriage.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to love one another. Thank you for opportunities like marriage retreats, workshops, that focus on your marriage principles and seek to help other couples. Thank you for opportunities to help bring us more closer to you and in our marriage. Grant us wisdom to effectively love each other according to our love language. Show us tools to walk in each of our roles in the marriage to give you the glory.
In Jesus name, AMEN!
