My husband and I knew from the beginning that it was VERY important for us to have positive, same interests, like-minded friends be apart of our circle. In the beginning we already had a lot of naysayers, especially when you are in a military relationship, not a lot of people understand how we do things. So we learned to be sensitive to who we hang around because having negative people around you does affect your relationship.
Have you had to kick some people to the curbed because they were toxic to your relationship?
I pray that we continue to come in contact with good, Godly friends with whom we can openly share our heart too. Be trustworthy, full of wisdom who will speak truth into our lives and not just say what we want to hear. Give us the discernment to separate ourselves from anyone who will not be a good influence.
I pray for strong, peaceful relationships with our friends, neighbors, acquaintances and coworkers. Enable us to be forgiving and not carry grudges or hold things in our hearts against others. Enable us to love our enemies, bless those who curse us, do good to those who hate us, and pray for those who spitefully use us and persecute us (Matthew 5:44). I Pray that we first learn how to become friends with each other and continue to grow. Show us what it means to be true friends and enable us to become one. In Jesus name, AMEN!
