“He who finds a [true] wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord.”
This is actually one of my favorite scriptures! I LOVE it because when I read it for some reason, I feel a sense of worth. (I know this sounds crazy!) It’s true, My prayer is that I become “More valuable than rubies or pearls.” (Proverbs 31:10). I always purpose myself as a wife to grow and learn from my mistakes.
What are your goals as a wife?
Help me to be a good wife. I know that I don’t have what it takes to be one without your help. Take away my selfishness, impatience and irritability and turn them into kindness, long-suffering and the willingness to bear all things. Show me where there is sin in my heart, especially with regard to my husband. I confess the times I’ve been unloving, critical, angry, resentful, disrespectful, or unforgiving toward him, please help me in those areas. Help me to put those things aside and to love him like you do.
Help me to become my husband’s helpmate, companion, friend and support effectively. Help me to create a peaceful, restful, safe place for him to come home to. Teach me how to take care of myself and stay attractive for him. Teach me how to pray for my husband and make my prayers a true language of love. Where love has died, create new love between us, and teach me how to speak his love language. Lord, breathe life into our marriage.
In Jesus name, AMEN!
