Before my husband and I came together, we talked about the plans we had for our children. At the time, I just given birth to my wonderful twins and he was deployed, we were making plans to get married and live together. As I stated in the previous post, we did not want to repeat what our parents did and wanted to make changes in our lives and our generations to come.
We wanted to represent God in everything we did, and break the generational curses in both of our family lines and show our children what a Godly marriage and christian lifestyle look like, (which was something new to us, because we didn’t see for ourselves, but saw in our pastors at a church home, in an area my husband was stationed at).
In hindsight I know that this was God making changes in our hearts and minds and preparing us for the things to come in our life together.
I encourage you to think about the purpose God has for you in your marriage. If you know it, share it in the comments below!
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
I thank you for the plans and purpose you have for our lives. Helps us to have a clear understanding of the purpose you have for us in our marriage. Teach us the tools and grant us wisdom in how to go about it. Continue to remind us and help us to not get sidetracked with things that are not important to our purpose you have for us.
We speak against discouragement and fear in different seasons of our life together as a couple. I pray that the desires of our heart are not in conflict with yours. May we seek you for direction in every area of our life and hear you and move when you speak to us. In Jesus name, AMEN!
