Every year in march, McDonald’s come out with a Shamrock Shake in promotion of St.Patrick’s day. Here’s a little bit about St. Patrick’s Story, Patrick spread the Word of God across Ireland after he was kidnapped by pirates at age fourteen and sold as a slave to be a shepherd. He later escaped back to his homeland of England where a few years later was given a vision from God to study for the priesthood, be ordained, and then go back to Ireland. Through all of his sufferings his faith in the Lord was tested and proved. Patrick went on to preach the Gospel across all Ireland (famously using the shamrock as an analogy for the Trinity) and build churches there to the glory of God.
What a beautiful story of suffering and forgiveness. To jump start St. Patrick’s day with a healthy green recipe. The Shamrock shake, McDonald’s make, the full recipe, is a secret but the main ingredients in this shake is McDonald’s low-fat vanilla soft-serve ice cream, Shamrock Shake syrup, mint extract and then topped with whipped cream and a maraschino cherry. The ice cream, the syrup isn’t exactly healthy for you, (if you didn’t know that!). Let’s go over the nutrition facts. The Meaning of Shamrock!
The shamrock is a type of clover with three leaves. The most well-known meanings were imparted to the shamrock by St. Patrick, who compared the plant’s tri-part leaves to the Holy Trinity: Father, Son and Host Spirit. Occasionally shamrocks are found with four leaves. These are rare and considered to be very lucky for the finder. (source)
