Love our Vets answers more than 60 heartfelt questions, providing down-to-earth wisdom and much-needed tips for taking care of yourself. The author Welby O’Brien shares as a counselor and from her personal experience of living with a 100% disabled veteran with PTSD, Welby are caught in the wake of the trauma. This book addresses a broad spectrum of issues and concerns and offers realistic wisdom from a wide variety of individuals who share from real hearts and lives. She has a masters degree in counseling from Portland state university and a teaching degree from Biola university. Her most important qualification is that she is married to a veteran with PTSD. I was blessed with the opportunity to attend a military spouse event hosted by militaryoneclick, here in San Diego. Militaryoneclick is a resource dedicated to enhancing the lives of the military families and friends of the community in just one click. Their website helps provide the latest news, jobs, opportunities, deals, and events. They just hosted an event called: MilSpouseFest 2016. Here’s her story… My husband left for a 9 month deployment in June of 2014. The DAY he left, my youngest found some scissors upstairs (my husband was cutting tags from his shirts that morning before he left and accidentally left them out on the bathroom sink.) Without realizing the scissors were there, I sent my kiddos up to our room to watch a movie while I prepared dinner. 10 minutes later, my sweet little 2.5 year old came down with half of her head almost bald.
