Matthew 11: 28-30 (MSG) “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on (business)? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” Life can literally take so much out of you, you have nothing left for even yourself. Being a military spouse, mom of 3 AND entrepreneur, REST almost seems like it NEVER HAPPENS or I don’t get ENOUGH of it, because of feeling burnt out, I’ve learned along the way that God has a certain way of doing [Continue Reading…]
If you haven’t read the introduction to this series, you can check it out here. The whole idea to this series is to recognize anything that can be toxic or harmful to our spirit in any way and free ourselves to live a better life. The first thing we are going to deal with is our thought life. Our thoughts matter so much. The thought, either negative or positive, really does count because what you think determines what you become. This is Day 1 to our series Soul Detox, Lets dig a little deeper. God’s word gives us very important instructions that we must take seriously. He instructed us to speak life-giving words to others every chance we get. (1 Thessalonians 5:11) Anytime you think something positive about someone, TELL [Continue Reading…]
Fears… Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” Prayer: Lord, I pray that fear will not rule over us. Instead may your word penetrate every fiber of our being, letting us know that your love for us is far greater than anything we face and nothing can separate us from it. You have not given us a spirit of fear. You’ve given us power love, and a sound mind. (2 timothy 1:7). My husband and I will not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday (psalm 91:5-6). In Jesus name, AMEN!
Forgiveness Ephesians 4:32 “Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” Forgiveness is something I had to learn through trial and error through the years with my husband and I. We both did and it wasn’t easy but by the grace of God, we got through it and still practicing forgiveness. Prayer… Lord, Thank you for the gift of forgiveness and the blessing that comes with it, when someone truly let go and forgive the other person. Lord, give us the strength and willingness to forgive and move on with our lives and not hold on to the bitterness forgiveness brings. We thank you for your peace that surpasses all understanding.
Teamwork Proverbs 27:17 “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.” The definition of teamwork is cooperative work done by two or more people with a common goal. My husband and I work together in training up or children in the way that even when he is old he will not depart from it (Proverbs 22:6). Lord, I pray that you give us strength through the years of our life together as married couples to be able to sharpen one another. Grant us wisdom, knowledge and understanding of your word that we may be effective teammates for your glory. Thank you for all that you are doing and going to do. In Jesus name, AMEN!
Reputation… Proverbs 22:1- A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, and favor is better than silver or gold. ***Prayer: Lord, I pray that as a married couple our reputation is untarnished in any way. We know that a man is often valued “by what others say of him” (Proverbs 27:21), I pray that we will be respected in our town and people will speak highly of us. Keep us safe from the evil of gossiping mouths. Where there has been ill spoken of us, touch the lips of those who speak it with your refining fire. Let the responsibility of those involved be reveled. May we trust in you and not be afraid of what man can do to us (psalm 56:11). Lead us, guide us [Continue Reading…]
Protection… Psalm 91:1-2 (amp) “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand]. I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God, on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust!” My husband is military and every time he is called to deployment, protection is the first thing on my mind for him. I know he’s thinking the same thing for me and our children, but through the years we have learned to always pray from the time we find out he’s leaving to the time he boards the plane to leave. Prayer for protection is key! Lord, I pray that you [Continue Reading…]
Bond… Matthew 19:6 (amp) “So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder (separate).” There has always been a bond between my husband and I since the day we met. A closeness we had in the beginning, began to grown through the years and I’m looking forward to what God will develop in our relationship! Prayer… Lord, I thank you for the bond of a husband and wife can have with each other. Let it be a bond so unbreakable that no matter the storm it still stands. Grant us wisdom to continue to grow in our relationship with each other, learning our spouse as we grow through the years. Helps us with different seasons in life and situations [Continue Reading…]
Money… Hebrews 13:5 (AMP) “Let your character or moral disposition be free from love of money [including greed, avarice, lust, and craving for earthly possessions] and be satisfied with your present [circumstances and with what you have]; for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!]” Money is said to be the #1 thing to cause people to get a divorce. That is one thing I’ve prayed that will not be the case for our marriage. Prayer… Lord, We commit our finances to you. Be in charge of [Continue Reading…]
